Offley Memorials raise £529 for Chums Charity
We were delighted to welcome Declan Duggan this week from Chums Charity to present him with the funds raised at a local event held in Offley.
Director Nicholas Prutton paid for a caricature artist to attend the Green Man Offley on the night of his 60th birthday party and then asked for donations from anyone wishing to sit for their portrait.
Chums is a charity very close to our hearts. It offers a mental health and emotional wellbeing service to children and young adults as well as bereavement support for those who have lost a baby or who have been affected by suicide in Bedfordshire.
As a family, we were devastated recently to learn that our nephew/cousin took his own life aged just 29 years old. He left behind 3 young children who are now accessing vital support through this charity. So the £529 that was raised that evening has been donated in Josh's memory.
We look forward to running other fundraisers for them throughout the year. In the meantime, if you know of anyone who may benefit from their services, please contact them on 01525 863924 and visit their website for further information www.chums.uk.com
